Phyllis Galembo is an American photographer concerned (predominantly) with masquerade and ritual costume. These portraits of masqueraders build on Galembo’s work of the past twenty years photographing the rituals and religious culture in Nigeria, Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica and Haiti.
